2024 Presidential Election Statement –
Our social, political, and economic landscapes are incredibly volatile. There is understandable fear, frustration, and exhaustion stemming from so many compounded crises here in the U.S. and abroad, including war; genocide; racist, xenophobic, and transphobic policies; and climate change. We know that mass violence anywhere—through policies or force—can amplify violence here at home.
We recognize that such unrest often is co-opted by racist bigots, politicians, and bullies to divide our communities—to pit immigrants against the 2SLGBTQI+ community, to pit religious groups against secular groups, to pit housed folks against our unhoused neighbors, and further scapegoat marginalized and oppressed people. These tactics rely on violence and coercion—and Enlace will always work to counter those harmful tactics and reduce their pervasive effects.
Enlace’s roots are embedded firmly in our communities—and we know that through authentic community care and power-building across generations, we can shape a healthier, more equitable New Mexico, even in the darkest of times.
