South Valley Men and Young Men’s Initiative

Project Overview

The South Valley Men and Young Men’s Initiative (SVMYMI) is a project of La Red del Rio Abajo that involved at least five organizations (Enlace Comunitario, Valle Encantado, Prosperity Works, Partnership for Community Action Agri-Cultura Network, and Encuentro) to work directly with Latino men and young men. The SCMYMI pilot program focuses on building positive relationships between the Hispano and Immigrant Communities in the South Valley, having a positive impact on the life trajectories of 20 young men in our community.

La Red de Rio Abajo is a social justice collaborative in Albuquerque’s South Valley dedicated to creating the environment, systems, and circumstances to promote safe, healthy, and economically secure families and communities. La Red member organizations are Barelas Community Coalition, Centro Savila, Encuentro, Enlace Comunitario, Agri-Cultura Network, NM Immigrant Law Center, Partnership for Community Action, PB&J Family Services, Prosperity Works, South Valley Economic Development Center, and Valle Encantado.
