Claudia Medina, Co-Founder and Executive Director
Over a decade ago, Claudia Medina co-founded and was the Executive Director of Enlace Comunitario (EC) until December 2013. She later returned in January of 2018 and is EC’s current Executive Director.
Claudia has also co-founded three other agencies:
El CENTRO de Igualdad y Derechos, which works on advancing immigrant rights
Mujeres en Accion, a women’s income generating project
and La Plaza de Encuentro, a newly formed immigrant center that provides educational and civic engagement opportunities to Latino immigrants in New Mexico.
In addition, Ms. Medina is a member of the advisory board of Encuentro Latino National Institute on Family Violence; a member of the Executive Committee of the NETWORK to eliminate violence against women in New Mexico; is currently the vice president of the board of the NM Coalition Against Domestic Violence and a board member of the Southwest Women’s Law Center. Ms. Medina also participates actively in several other groups and task forces. Ms. Medina has a Law Degree, an MA in Family Studies, and an MA in Latin American Studies.
Antoinette Sedillo López, Former Executive Director
Antoinette Sedillo López was the Executive Director of Enlace Comunitatio from February 2014 until June 2017 . A former professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law, she brought significant skills in strategic planning, program management, public policy and donor cultivation to the organization.
A New Mexico native, Ms. Sedillo López also clerked for the District of Columbia Circuit Court and worked in private practice. She served as Director of the U.N.M. School of Law’s nationally recognized clinic program and oversaw the Summer Law Institute in Guanajuato, Mexico. An accomplished author and legal practitioner, she has received numerous awards in recognition of her work on social justice and civil rights issues.
Ms. Sedillo López has served on numerous boards and previously chaired the Board of Directors of Enlace Comunitario. She is a member of the Board of the Southwest Women’s Law Center and the Valley Improvement Association. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico and her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ms. Sedillo López has published nationally on a broad range of topics, including international child abduction, family law, Navajo marriage, clinical legal education, Spanish/ English legal dictionaries, international advocacy on women’s rights and legal education. She speaks on topics in her areas of expertise to regional, national and international audiences.
